Many European countries including Germany are facing an escalating dispute over the recognition of Islamic feasts as official holidays.
Head of the Supreme Council of Muslims in Germany, Aiman Mazyek, demanded the recognition of Islamic feasts as official holidays, but German officials have refused arguing that the bad economy in Europe does not allow financing of additional holidays.
Additionally, some Europeans have considered this demand as an attempt to change the European values and seeks the Islamization of the old continent.
