Emad Atef, minister at St. Mina Church, Zara village, Gerga, said that while building a wall around the church, a group of Salafis have attacked the Church and locked the priest up threatening to burn the church in case the wall is built.
Upon contacting the director of security in Beni Suef, he decided that nothing would change and the wall shouldn’t be built though the church has all due permits.
Father Andrawes Moussa, priest of the Chruch, said that police know those Salafis very well, but have never tried to arrest any of them.
