Father Estifanous Shehata, deputy of Samalout diocese, told Copts United that after a Christian barber called Attia Girgis had shared a photo on Facebook that was considered by some people offensive to Islam; many young people have besieged his house and stoned it.
Later, in a customary reconciliation session, it was agreed that Attia should pay 50.000 EGP and abandon the village forever.
