An Egyptian court on Tuesday slapped former president Hosni Mubarak with another 30 days of detention for graft charges.
Mubarak is accused of exploiting his position while president to amass wealth illegally.
It is the third time for the ousted president's detention to be extended owing to illicit gains charges, the last time being on 8 May. He currently remains in detention at Cairo's Tora Prison Hospital.
The 84-year-old former head of state was released in April pending a retrial, in which he will face charges of complicity in the killing of unarmed anti-regime protesters during the January 2011 popular uprising that toppled him.
His release in April came after Mubarak's lawyer successfully argued that his client had spent the maximum time in temporary detention allowable by law.
Mubarak currently remains in custody on separate corruption charges as well.
In June of last year, Mubarak received a life sentence for failing to protect unarmed protesters during the 2011 uprising. He will now face a retrial – which began on 11 May – due to procedural failings in the initial trial.
