18,000 GBP demanded to treat victim from Mohamed Mahmoud

CAIRO: A group of friends of Moawad Adel, one of those injured during the Mohamed Mahmoud clashes in 2012, staged a protest in front of State Council in Dokki, demanding the payment of his medical care.

The protest coincided with the consideration of a lawsuit filed by Adel’s mother, demanding that the state continue providing the required medical care for her son, in addition to granting approximately 18,000 GBP, in addition to any money required for treating him abroad.

The court has adjourned its decision until Dec. 31.

Moawad Adel  is a fourth year student in the Faculty of Pharmacology, and was shot during the commemoration of the Mohamed Mahmoud events, in 2012. Protesters chanted demanding fair retribution for Adel and all the victims of the revolution.

The court had previously issued a verdict to grant the required money for treating Adel, according to his doctor’s recommendations and his consultant in London, in addition to sending him abroad to continue his treatment.
