Trial of Brotherhood cell in Emirates adjourned to 17 December

The Emirati Federal Supreme Court postponed on Tuesday the trial of Egyptians held for affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood to 17 December.

The suspects, including 20 Egyptians and 10 Emiratis, six of whom are fugitives, are accused of forming a Muslim Brotherhood branch in the Emirates.

During the previous session, the court heard the prosecution's plea and decided to postpone the trial in order to hear the suspects’ pleas.

In June, the prosecution referred the suspects to the court after investigations showed that some of them had founded and run a branch of an international organization in the Emirates without an official license.

In an earlier statement, the prosecution had said the suspects “formed an administrative structure to polarize the new members of the group and maintaining the entity and individuals in Emirates.” It added that they collected funds illegally.
