Abba Matthias I, Patriarch of Ethiopia, and his accompanying delegation, visited today the monastery of St. Macarius in Shehit wilderness, at Wadi Natrun desert west of the Nile Delta.
According to a statement issued by the Information Office of the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Patriarch met with Abba Epiphanius, bishop and abbot of the monastery who showed him around the monastery.
He was also accompanied by Abba Hedra, Bishop of Aswan, and Abba Raphael, the secretary of the Holy Synod.
