Copts Salafis in parliamentary elections
Egyptian newspapers have been talking for a while about the nomination of the Salafi Nour Party for some Copts on its electoral lists. This is now accepted and totally permissible by leaders of the Salafist call who used to prevent this as unlawful. They believe the Copts are infidels along the year, but forget about such fact during the elections. It’s really a filthy political game to legitimize the party, which is based on an entirely religious basis against the Constitution.

Does Sheikh Berhamy forget about his earlier statement in which he called the Copts infidels who shouldn’t take any political office? Now, his party invites the Copts to run for elections on the lists of the Salafis!

How could the Copts forget about the Salafis who attacked several churches after the dispersal of Rabaa Adawia and Nahda sit-ins? This came after they demolished a church in Atfih, attacked a church in Imbaba, burned a church in Kerdasa, stoned the great Cathedral of St. Mark, and prevented a Coptic governor from reaching at his office in Qena.

Have the Copts who support the Salafis forgotten about their insults against Christianity and refusing to congratulate the infidels on their feasts.

I hope that Coptic candidates on Salafi lists remember that they will benefit nothing if they lose themselves. They should realize that Salafis have destructive ideas as they don’t respect even the national anthem.  Moreover, they don’t realize equal citizenship or the equality of women.

Therefore, I demand all Egyptians to face those Copts running on electoral lists of the Salafis. We don’t accept to give the Egyptian parliament once again to the Islamists. They have the same Ideas of the Muslim Brotherhood, as they target a religious state with a fake modern face. On the other hand, the Egyptians dream about a modern civil state that achieves security and prosperity for all. Those who support the Salafis will regret it, because they have betrayed their homeland and religion as well.
