Copts start Nativity Fast on November 26

Coptic church announced that the Nativity Fast will start on November 26 and lasts for 43 days.

Father Rouis Morcos, priest of the Church of the Virgin and St. George, in Alexandria, said that all Coptic Orthodox churches in Egypt and the world hold daily masses during the days of the fasting.
He explained that the duration of fasting are taken after the forty days, which Moses the Prophet fasted to receive the law, while the other three days were added to the duration of fasting during the reign of Pope Abram, Pope No. 62 of the Coptic Church, to commemorate the three days that the Copts fasted to move Mount Mokattam.
