Our Christian believe that God disciplines those whom He loves. For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights. (Proverbs 3:12) This is clear as the psalm says: ‘ The Lord has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death. (Psalm 118: 18) Thus, if we consider such pandemic as punishment or rather a discipline from the Lord, we should not forget about his love as lover of mankind. He only wants us to return to his bosom and to live with him.
It is written: ‘Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 1: 3) Also Jesus said: “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. (Matthew 5: 17) However, he is offering forgiveness ‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1: 9)
In fact, God is trying to return us by all means. It is not a matter of wrath, but endless love. He is God who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. ((1 Timothy 2: 4)
