Egypt: An Abusive Relationship?

A good relationship brings out the best in people, we know a bad relationship brings out the worst. With Egypt's economy circling the drain, and laws becoming more stringent and dubois, the question remains, what or who is Egypt in a relationship with that is causing this downward spiral? Hmmm, I wonder? It couldn't possibly be the fact that religion is playing a bigger than ever role in society, could it? (Insert sarcastic tone here) Maybe I'm an onlooker not knowing the full scope of the situation, but any sane person would agree, the best thing to do in a bad relationship is end it.
