We are not enemies of Islam

Copts and Muslims in Paris organized a demonstration on April 12th against killing innocent Christians in Khosous as well as attacking the Great Cathedral of St. Mark. However, some young Coptic Christians didn't like some cheers of unity among all Egyptians, Muslims and Christians. So, I need here to point out to some facts concerning the Coptic issue.

First, Coptic Christians are not enemies of the Muslims or Islam in general, as our Christianity teaches us to love and appreciate them. However, we disagree with the Islamists who threaten and persecute us.

Secondly, we, the Copts, shouldn't think about Islam only as verses of killing and jihad, as this is the same logic of the fanatics that we shouldn't encourage them to adopt.

Third, we must encourage the moderate Muslims to keep their moderatism. In fact, most Muslims in Egypt are moderate, and are willing to cooperate and tolerate their Christian neighbors.

Fourthly, I certainly don't underestimate killing our brothers in Khosous and many other places, as I do believe that Copts are persecuted and killed because of their religion. However, many Muslims hate the Muslim Brotherhood and literally fight the religious state of the Islamists to death, such as: Mohammed Gendy, Hoseiny Abu Deif, Cristy, Farag Fouda, Khazendar and Nokrashy Pasha..etc.

Fifthly, it's recorded in history that while Nasser has contributed 100.000 EGP to build the Great Cathedral of St. Mark, the Muslim Brotherhood has attacked it with thier thugs and police using tear gas and trying to demolish it. This happened only few days after the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafis have insulted Al-Azhar and tried to dismiss its Grand Imam.

Finally, I believe that Muslims and Christians need each other. I know that no matter what happens to the Copts, they won't abandon Egypt. Throughout history, they faced more terrible persecution, and they have never abandoned their home land. In fact, they will stand and fight with the moderate Muslims against fanaticism, till this great sorrow is over.
