If those who support the civil current in Egypt want to be strong on the Egyptian political scene, they will have to chnage their way a little bit. They have to work on the ground with the poor like those who belong to the Islamic current. However the Islamic current trade on relgion and incite sectarian incidents as well, civil current can work on the ground to prove they are not the enimies of God, as the Islamic current claim. Simple man in the street tends to be moderate concerning religion while the Islamists are but extremists, which may be useful for the civil current in the future.
No one can deny that the new Pope for the Coptic Orthodox Church will take office as head of his church under very difficult and unprecedented circumstances. This comes at the time Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis have reached power and are trying to impose an Islamic constitution and the Islamic Sharia. Furthermore, they prosecute the religious minorities by all means, and sometimes they attack their houses of worship as well as their property, and force them to leave their homes.
Abba Moussa, Bishop of Youth said in al-Shorouk newspaper that he refuses the attempts of Evangelical Community to snatch the Coptic Orthodox young people
Copts have suffered from many patterns of forced displacement over the past few months
Egypt has been an Islamic country for 1600 years, and the Islamists haven't invaded Egypt a year ago
Each time I surf the internet seeking the latest Coptic news, I feel sad as I read about many Coptic movements and coalitions, as well as Coptic activists who issue many statements. I wonder: why do we have all those Coptic activists? And why couldn't they provide solutions for our problems as Copts?
Is Sinai going to be part of Gaza or merely Gaza becomes part of Egypt? When President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton few months ago expressed their support to Muslim Brotherhood –MB- and Morsy as first non military elected presided I failed to understand how come USA gives up on their spoiled child Israel and back up Muslim Brotherhood the close allied group to Hamas the enemy number 1 of Israel! The picture was still missing parts to be complete; it might still be missing parts but the revealed parts now make some sense!
Two speeches summarize the first 100 days since president Mohammed Morsy took office. The first was when he won the presidential elections when he addressed his family and tribe, and the second when he addressed the Israeli president calling him his great friend, and assuring he is the faithful friend of Israel. Both speeches show how MB thinks and work in Egypt.
President Mohammed Morsy has been strongly criticized recently for applying civilized diplomatic protocols while addressing his Israeli counterpart, Shimon Peres, calling him: "Dear and great friend" as well as "the loyal friend" as required by civilized diplomatic protocols.
The Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria is set to elect a New Pope in the very near future. As a Christian Egyptian person, I have duel sense of both great hope and yet also trepidation for this new Holy Father and for our Church.
No body is going to pay you like those who pay for kidnapping the minor Coptic girls!
Six days away from Home Country 5 only days in UK, it is true I breath pure air no dust in it walk in streets clean and not broken and damaged but each and every second I think of Egypt, however today’s article is still closely related to Egypt but not bout Egypt.
I am so proud of our great faithful Coptic Orthodox Church, that even gates of hell won’t be able to defeat
People can never live in an everlasting revolution، even if this revolution is but a peaceful one. We, as a potential democratic country, should believe in and respect the ballot box. Everybody has to obey the law and complies with the authorities even with their many mistakes. Then, it will gives account at the next election. Only then, it's time of change.
Everybody in Egypt was surprised and felt angry after all defendants in camel battle were acquitted
It's the way of Christ Himself who said: Why do you strike Me! Jesus said to one of the officers who stood by during his trial and struck Him with the palm of his hand: “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?” Jesus was denouncing the action of striking him without a cause. This should be applied by all Christians when they face oppression or prosecution for no good reason. Jesus showed us how to refuse the oppression and prosecution peacefully, and not just keep silent as many people think.
Two things all my life I hated – forgive me God – Doctors and Lawyers! A Doctor we see him when in pain troubled and need solution and relieve... Doctors will never give you this most wanted pain relief before you go around making tests and blood analysis and x-rays then end of the line they tell you do have xyz we can not help you you will die in xyz...Am I right to HATE THEM?
The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground!
At October 6th of each year, we remember the victory of our Armed Forces in the war against Israel. Our great soldiers could achieve such victory as they fought together, Muslims and Christians, for they really loved their country. They didn't fear the fire of the enemy as they insisted on defending Egypt. Muslim and Christian blood was mixed in Sinai till the great victory has been achieved to spread joy and gladness all over Egypt.
The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground
One year has passed since the massacre of Maspero, when 27 Coptic Chrisitan young people were killed and more than 300 were injured. We still remember Mina Danial and his companions crushed under the Egyptian Armored vehicles by the Egyptian army which was so brave against the Coptic Christians and so coward against the terrorists of Sinai. However, leaders of the army were forced to retire and are soon to be judged for corruption, bribe and not for killing the innocent people in Maspero.
