Since the January Uprising (more than 18 months) Egypt has been waiting for its new president. During 18 days, this uprising has united the Egyptian people to demand a civil state where there is freedom as well as human dignity.
The final results of presidential elections will be declared in few hours. A winner and a loser, and the game is over. The final results indicate the victory of Shafik, the candidate of the civil state.
Muslim Brotherhood was established basically for the Islamic Dawa, but it has lost its goal after it had mixed politics with religion to seize power. It has also established a political party, which is against MB principles, and defends the blood of the martyrs while their hands are stained with the blood of many Egyptians.
MB history since its very beginning or the beginning of the revolution of January 25 does not bode at all that they will bring something good for Egypt. MB has called the revolutionists drug addicted and adulterers. Moreover, it charged the judges of corruption and called Christians infidels. Furthermore, it charged ministry of interiors of corruption and issued an advisory opinion that tourism as well as banking is haram or prohibited by Islam.
Since the revolution of January 25 have started, there are many shocking and succeeding events, for instance: many historic places were burned, many prisoners have escaped and one of them is about to become the president of Egypt, Many women, children and men have been kidnapped, banks have been stolen, and the stock market have crashed.
On this crucial time in the history of Egypt a 7,000 old civilization country that hosted two of the old 7 wonders of the world after a brief off the Internet forced vacation I can not post my thoughts weekly as I used to do recently, but my feelings and thoughts still on; you can not stop caring of whom you love or put your brains in rest unless you are in a comma and even then your brains is working on its own out of control but still working until finally put on eternal rest with death.
A satellite channel has showed a video of a young man who was being slaughtered by some Islamic masked men, and there was a religious background. The young man was praying while the knife was slaying his neck to shed his blood on the earth and make his killers feel elated after holding his neck as a sign of victory!
When any educated person criticizes Muslim Brotherhood, MB attacks him and accuses him of infidelity and defamation of religion. However, I'm trying to uncover them before the people they are deceiving to know their reality. MB is trading on religion which is an effective tool to have power and authority. They try to look piety and righteous while in fact they are not. They mix between religion and politics though they shouldn't. Religion is pure and holy, but politics is the art of the possible or “Machiavellian” meaning “the end justifies the means”. Egyptian sociologist, Dr. Saad Eddin Ibrahim, head of Ibn Khaldun Center said: "Religion is holy and politics is defiled, how can we mix them?”. However, they mix religion and politics accusing anyone who tries to separate them (in order to preserve the purity of religion) of blasphemy?
Egyptians now face several shocks that may lead to another revolution that will burn everything and everybody. After the disappointing verdict on Mubarak and the failure of the revolutionary forces to achieve something in the presidential race, which brought the same polarities: Democratic National Party against Muslim Brotherhood. The conditions are different, but the actions are the same. Revolutionists couldn’t be united, but they are scattered keeping themselves busy calling each other as betrayals!
I felt really bad upon reading in Alwatan newspaper that father Salib Matta Sawirus supports the application of the death penalty against the person who defames God, religions, or prophets. The man is member of General Congregation Council and head of Salam international center for human rights as well as a church leader.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that this week is a defining moment in the modern history of Egypt, as the runoff will be held between Mohammed Mursy and Ahmed Shafik in the presidential elections. It will determine how Egypt will be for many years to come. Egyptians now have two options: First, a civil state where law is respected, all citizens are equal, religious freedom and rights of the minorities as well as women are respected; where science, researches, inventions and production is the way to develop the country. Second, a religious state governed by Mohammed Badie who promised to establish the first Islamic Caliphate in modern Egypt.
I'm surprised that political movements, parties, youth revolution coalitions as well as liberal candidates for the presidency are going to support Dr. Mohammed Mursy, the candidate of Muslim Brotherhood against Ahmed Shafik. They know that Mursy and his Freedom and Justice Party are seeking a religious state in Egypt to restore the Islamic caliphate and declare the Islamic law. Moreover, they support MB and their candidate and when they felt that Mursy would lose, they demanded the cancellation of the best Egyptian presidential elections ever.
After the first round of the Egyptian presidential elections, it was weird that Esam al-Erian, a Muslim Brotherhood leader and vice chairman of Freedom And Justice party, announced that Copts had elected Ahmed Shafik based on sectarian voting. The man doesn't consider Shafik a Muslim as a Coptic sectarian voting should be for a Copt! It seems he was hoping that Copts will vote for MB candidate! MB who has never been honest or reliable since the revolution of January 25. Moreover, its members have issued a lot of controversial announcements that made Copts angry and afraid of both MB and Salafis.
Muslim Brotherhood enjoyed a better situation than the other political forces during the Egyptian revolution, however they didn't participate in the revolution since its beginning.
Egyptians of all currents anticipated the judgment on Mubarak, his sons, the former interior minister Habib al-Adly, as well as his assistants. Some people expected the judgment to be “not guilty” while others expected him to be sentenced to death. However, we all agreed that June 2nd 2012 will not pass unnoticed. I as well as many have expected the judgment to be postponed until after the presidential elections.
Ahmed Shafik is such a phenomenon rather than a remnant of the former regime. His rivals claim he has appeared
While Young people of Egypt were receiving the bullets of policemen in Tahrir Square on January 25, Muslim Brotherhood have received American orders to wait and see what Mubarak was going to do on one hand, and make sure young people could incite the Egyptians as much as they could on the other hand. Two days later, millions of Egyptians had participated in the revolution and hundreds of Egyptians had been already killed, and finally, US ordered MB through their agent in Turkey to participate in the demonstrations.
Today, many thoughts are hitting Egypt like huge waves; most of it is destructive while few are of use. It is like a hurricane that hits all over Egypt, and affects the Egyptian personality in a very bad way, and affected ethics, religions, security, politics, media, society, economy… etc.
After the Spanish dictator, general Francisco Franco has passed away, Spanish people decided in a historic referendum to restore the royal regime. Now, Spain is one of the free countries that adopts devolution of power. This came after respecting the will of the Spanish people who decide what they do want and what they don't, this is democracy and everyone should respect their choice. People may disagree, debate or accuse each
The will of the Egyptians should be respected, Those who united to achieve this democratic festival all over the Arab world which will affect the whole world, their will should be respected. Egypt is located in the center of the Arab
First of all, I want to point out that the title of this article is taken from a famous book by the late father Boulos Basily. I found in this title the best answer to the accusations for the Copts after the first round of the presidential elections in Egypt 2012 and a runoff election will be held between Dr. Mohammed Mursi, the candidate of Freedom and Justice Party, the political arm of Muslim Brotherhood, and Ahemd Shafik, the former prime minister.
