The funeral for the seven Egyptians who were found shot dead in Libya took place on Wednesday in the main Coptic Orthodox cathedral in Cairo's Abbasiya district.

On Thursday, Imam of Al-Azhar Mosque Ahmed al-Tayeb called on governments of Arab and Islamic states to take a decisive stand “to halt ongoing blatant infringements on Islamic holy sites.”
