When the late Pope Shenouda III was asked about Christen inheritance system, he said that Church hasn’t appointed specific system for inheritance. Jesus answered one from the crowd who said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
Master of the terrorists denounced the participation of Arab kings and presidents at the anti terrorist international demonstration in Paris. This city that welcomed great scholars to learn including Sheikh Mohammed Abdu, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and Taha Hussein, was hit by terrorism that killed 12 intellectuals and journalists, as well as three police men. This master of terrorsits denounces the participation of Arab kings and presidents. Such denouncement means he wants Arab countries to support such terrorist attack and killing of innocent people. It also means he supports killing those innocent “infidels” when they only gave Muslims the right to work and stay in their home countries as they believe in peaceful coexistence among all human beings, without distinction between sex, religion or race or color.
Last week when I wanted to congratulate Egyptians for Christmas and wish the whole of Egypt many more happy returns, the attack on France made me spoiled the occasion, in a few coming days another religious occasion according to the Coptic calendar is the celebrations of Jesus baptism in the Jordan river on Saint John’s hands who was nominated for that occasion John the Baptist, or St. John the Baptist whom my name –John- is after him. In the Gregorian calendar in Orthodox church this is celebrated on the 6th of January and next day is St. John the Baptist memory, “He who come after me and was before me…” his most famous say may his blessing be on us among us for ever and ever Amen.
With the tragedy that just recently happened in Paris, I want to talk about freedom. I will be the first to say that jokes concerning religion is a very sensitive subject. However, it is no secret that Christians and Jews and Muslims all take turns getting made fun of. Nobody has the right to make fun of your religion, but everyone has the right to say and express their opinions.
America and Europe were turned upside down after the killing of 12 employees at the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo. Security Council held a minute's silence for the victims. President Obama went personally to the French Embassy to offer his sincere condolences. Most Arab leaders offered their condolences, and media has denounced the attack. Moreover, dozens of world leaders participated in the French demonstration to condemn terrorism. Bloodshed deserves all of that, but a number of French observers were surprised that the French newspaper "Twenty minutes" broke the news three minutes after the incident, and Israeli media identified the perpetrators fifteen minutes later!
Honoring the King is indeed a Christian behavior, and there are so many verses that support such idea like what was written by St. Paul in his letter to the Romans chapter 13. Such verses were used much by church fathers during the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood. However, they forgot such verses when the great Cathedral of St. Mark was brutally attacked. Now, the same verses are being used to support president al-sisi and exaggerate honoring him that we appear as worshipping him like what a bishop said about the visit of the president to the Cathedral at Christmas eve that Christ appeared in the cathedral when al-Sisi appeared! We shouldn't forget that we hated the Muslim Brotherhood for the same reason as they used religion to support Mohamed Morsy.
During the revolution of January 25, the Egyptian public TV was only airing movies ignoring all information about the revolution. At that time, the Egyptians decided to watch other satellite channels like Al-Jazira and BBC to know the real news on the ground. Many anchors and journalists just ignored the matter until they made sure the revolution will win. Then, they decided to become the new revolutionists! Many activists decided to follow the same path and started appearing on televisions analyzing the events and even invited to vote for the Muslim Brotherhood in the presidential elections.
Al-Nour ultra conservative party is the political reproduction of the Muslim Brotherhood and its representative on the political stage. This was proven as the Islamic party called President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi infidel for visiting the Great Cathedral of St. Mark to congratulate the Copts on their feast at the Christmas eve. Those people live in Egypt where they earn their living, but they don't even consider it their homeland. Moreover, they consider the police and army their enemies. They continue to conspire against Egypt, hate its Copts and work to divide Egypt.
I was planning to pay my respects to our President and Leader Abd El-Fatah el-Sisi for his courageous unprecedented step, to surprise the WHOLE of Egypt with his presence in the Mass Ceremony of Christian Egyptian Christmas that coincides on the 7th of January, he surprised every body and come to the church to be the 1st ever Egyptian President that comes to a celebration life by himself not sending representatives! However, un-expected events took place last few days in France that I respect and love as I had lived there a few years some time ago and have memories in a lot of places. In my early days as a newly graduated person and was hopping to find a job there, I even had the chance to engage a French young lady but I soon stepped back as I felt I was opportunist trying to get a legal state in France with that engagement, and I would not lie to myself neither any one that I care of.
We, as Egyptians have recently witnessed a life-changing event in front of our eyes. This past Christmas the Copts had the honor of receiving Sisi in the Cathedral for midnight mass. Sisi is the first ever president to visit the cathedral to celebrate with the Copts a religious event. He came in gracefully and greeted the Pope with respect and was honored by what he saw.
Giza governor announced at the end of the year 2014 that exams can be scheduled on January 1st in order to lend more seriousness for the New Year. He indeed was wishing to arrest all traitors who celebrate at that night headed by Mr. Santa Claus, the American agent. I have to agree with him that there is a great conspiracy against our nation led by America and Santa Claus that started centuries ago when we followed that stupid plan of celebrating the new year!
These are the same guys the Western governments have hosted, pampered and financed, now coming back to haunt them. These are the great "believers of democracy" killing to intimidate those who criticize them or differ with them. They are all the offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, a world fascist, terrorist organization that openly states that it will only rest when the whole world has been forced into submission to their ideas and distorted beliefs. In the plans of the West, the Moslem Brothers were to inherit the Middle East. So when Egyptians revolted against them in June of 2013, they called this popular revolt a coup and accused Egypt of human rights abuses.
Journalists and anchors are used to host some astrologers and astronomers at the end of the year to foretell about the new year. Yet, many people are interested in such programs including myself, but I don’t know the reason! Maybe it’s our way to relieve our worry and fear for the new year.
I couldn't expect to find so many agents who carry the Egyptian citizenship, but have no loyalty to their homeland. Many journalists and news reporters decided to join this ugly team. For instance, El Bawaba News has chosen a shocking and disappointing headline that raises fear in everybody who reads it. It expresses extreme anger and dissatisfaction at the year 2014, as well as extreme fear at the new year 2015. However, I believe that 2014 was a great year for the Egyptians as they decided to overthrow the Muslim Brotherhood and restore their country back.
Am I the only one who is disgusted with what is happening in Libya right now? I just watched the most heartbreaking video of the two girls whose family was murdered in Libya. The priest kept asking, "where is your parents" and the little girls kept responding with, "in heaven" How heartbreaking is that? Once again, Muslim fundamentalists are behind violent and dirty acts against the people around them. You think it was a coincidence that more Copts were just recently kidnapped? Here is my problem: Islam is a religion of violen
Father Sergius the rebel was born in Gerga in 1882, and then he moved to Cairo in his youth to study at the theological school at Mahmasha where he organized his very first demonstration against the bad conditions of the dorms. He graduated in 1903. He was ordained a priest in Mallawy one year later and then became the deputy of Assiut diocese. Later, he traveled to the Sudan and worked as the deputy of Khartoum diocese where he started the national struggle against the British colonization and issued “St. Mark's Episcopate Lighthouse" magazine. The English ruler ordered his deportation from the Sudan after spending three years there considering him a troublemaker.
A lock is a part of a canal or river that is closed off by gates so that the water level can be raised or lowered to move boats up or down a slope. It can lower the water lever and prevent watering the planets on that river. There was a famous movie about a woman called Fouada who was a farmer. The mayor Atris was a dictator who decided to close the lock and prevent farmers from watering their planets. Fouada decided to resist and say No! Thus, she opened the lock and overcame this dictator.
Five years have passed since the departure of Mr. Adly Abadir. As time passes, we make sure we lost such patriot Coptic activist. All Coptic activists know his contribution to the cause was great. In fact, he is the only Coptic activist who sacrificed that much of his time and money for the Coptic cause. He founded and financed Copts United electronic newspaper to express the voices of Copts all over the world.
Today I write my last article for 2014 and who knows may be my very last one in this life, so before it is too late let me wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year; I know many of you Egyptians have the habit to wish a Happy New Year prior to wishing a Merry Christmas as this in Egypt used to be on the 7th of January meaning New Year comes first!
I would like to point out my appreciation for our President, Sisi. This may sound a little idealistic, and not reality, but I honestly believe that for the past year and a half, Sisi has made leaps and bounds in comparison to what Egypt was like during the reign of Morsi. We have had nothing but terrorism and protests every week. I mentioned in a previous article, that all we hear about is who was killed in Sinai, and how many protestors died in the violence in which they created.
Take care of Zozo was the movie I watched when I was ten years old. The actress was a belly dancer who used to perform with indecent clothes. However, her mother asked her to wear robe in order to meet a guest who came to visit her. I asked my father why she should put a rope on if she's used to perform with much less clothes on. His answer showed me his open mind unlike the current generation. He told me that her house is different from the stage. She, as a belly dancer, doesn't have to be indecent in her life.
