The love of our crucified God Jesus Christ makes him transcend our weaknesses like his disciples at the time of his crucifixion as well as those who crucified him. His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, in his article The Hour of the Cross, the Hour of Love , explained to us many of the pictures of God s love for man at the time of his death on the cross.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ was the greatest event, which shook the Jews, thus they tried to resist it by all means. They described it as the last misguidance which was stronger than the initial misguidance, which is Christ s preaching. The resurrection of Jesus from the dead was unique and never heard of before. Throughout his life Jesus preached resurrection when he said to them, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.” (Luke 9:22). He came out of the Virgin Mary and her virginity was sealed, and he came out of the tomb while it was closed. Moreover, he met the disciples when the doors were shut when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

After over 2000 years from the time that Jesus came to our world, we still find groups that deny His birth and other groups denying His resurrection and others even denying that He came to our world. This is, in fact, the acts of the devil who is always putting doubts and denial in peoples hearts to prevent them from enjoying this great event. As the Bible said, if there is no resurrection, then there is no hope, and that s what the devil wants to put inside each one of us: to become hopeless and confused until the time comes when we are not ready and to hear the voice of the Lord saying, “I do not know you.”

As the Coptic Orthodox Church is celebrating the Holy Week reaching Easter on Sunday, many people wonder why the church is late celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ since the Catholic Church usually celebrate Easter 13 days earlier. There are mainly two reasons behind such difference. The first reason is the calendar since the Christian Orthodox Church continues to follow the Julian calendar when calculating the date of Easter, while the rest of Christianity uses the Gregorian calendar and the difference comes here since the Julian calendar is 13 days behind the Gregorian.

The Egyptian response to the Sudanese accusations and claims that Halaib and Shalatin belong to the Sudan came very powerful and different. After the end of the Presidential Election in Egypt, there is one title we can describe this election with, “Lack of transparency.” One thing everyone notices in this election is how all media attempted to show numbers that support its opinion toward the regime and especially toward President Al Sisi, while not supporting the truth. There is one side, the Muslim Brotherhood who are well known to be against Sisi and his regime. They try to show that the votes were very weak and that only a few Egyptians went to vote in this election.

In April 2013, the Cathedral of St. Mark in Abbasiya was attacked and 3 Copts were killed and 84 were injured. The perpetrators were likely searching for weapons in the church or Coptic women who have converted into Islam and are still trapped in the church according to many stories spread by fanatics. They were likely searching for a reason to justify their attacks on Christian houses and churches. Ever since, the fascist regime was collapsing and this attack was a step towards overthrowing the regime of the Muslim Brotherhood. During the transitional period from July 2013 to June 2014, Copts were subject to many sectarian attacks as a price to pay by the Copts for supporting President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, and they are still supporting him.

As there is a temporary homeland and a permanent heavenly home, we must pass the first faithfully until we reach the eternal one. Thus, Pope was not wrong when he said that the homeland comes before the church as it is a written commandment to give what belongs to Caesar to Caesar. The Islamists commit a big mistake when they underestimate the homeland and consider their religion a homeland. This can t happen as the homeland is the place where we are born, educated, work, inhabit and die. Yet, religion can t do this to us to be considered a homeland. Giving what belongs to Caesar to Caesar has a deep philosophy as it advocates the civil state and distinguish between the city of God and the earthly city.

I know that in this article I defend an issue that has a big possibility of loss as speaking about America often provokes the anger of some people who advocate America s hatred by all means. However, my goal here is not to change their minds or to defend America. Yet, for me it is a question of principle, conscience and acknowledgement of favor of this great country where I lived for about 50 years. Saying this does not mean I think America is infallible. The perfection belongs only to God and there is no virtuous city on earth. What ensures that no deviation happens is the state of law, which is applied in America. All citizens are subject to the rule of law, including the President. I witnessed an American President who lost his office because he covered a group of his men spying on the other party. They were convicted and sentenced to prison.

Our age is the age of communication .The right communication comes out from the right information . The right way of information needs hard work and critical insight inside the continuous movement of the cultural and political life of people coming from different social and religious coaches but are invited to live together . I believe that the title CU is somewhat misleading ! The site is occupied with all Egyptians . We have to say that the original greek meaning of the term (Coptic ) is ( Egyptian ). So The Coptic United is , in fact , Egyptians United . That is what exists all over the publications , debates , commentaries , reports of a well learned reporters all over the country , really.

The Egyptian presidential elections have started, which I call the most important event currently in Egypt. The importance of this event also comes from the strategic importance of Egypt in the region and its great history and civilization. Such elections reflect the civilization of the Egyptian people which was seen as well in the previous elections. Therefore, all Egyptians should continue their efforts to change their future by participation in the elections which is their right as well as their national duty.

His Grace Abba Benjamin, Bishop of Menofia, wrote in his article prayer in the words of the holy fathers about the importance of prayer as explained by fathers of the church. Among their sayings the patience in prayer generates stability in front of the wars of prayer which means that prayers helps human to overcome spiritual wars that aims to stop man from continue praying. Moreover, it can lead man to a life of joy, thanks giving and peace.

In a few days. We will have a new president in the presidential palace. The election is scheduled on 26 - 27 - 28 March. However, the current campaigns of candidates and various state institutions aim mainly at motivating citizens to cast their vote and participate in the elections to ensure a high voting rate promising this will ensure a better future for Egypt. I wonder if they will stay keen on this vote of the citizens after the elections end. The elections are indeed an important democratic feast that deserves such attention, but such effort to please the citizens should stay after the elections. I don t blame those who try hard to convince the citizens to participate, but there are many projects and goals that deserve such unity and propaganda that is really related to our future.

The most important event these days is the Egyptian presidential election which began abroad Friday, Saturday and Sunday 16, 17, 18 March 2018. I was one of the participants in the presidential elections as I casted my vote at the Egyptian Embassy in London. This was on Saturday 17 March, the anniversary of the departure of pope Shenouda III eho said that Egypt is not a country we live in, but a country that lives in our hearts.

To each his own. Thus, it would be hard to foretell what Pope Shenouda III would do if he was alive under the regime of the Muslim Brotherhood. Would he clash with them or stay in the monastery? What would he do with President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi? I am sure they would go along as Pope Shenouda was nice to everybody, especially the good people. I believe he would have also participated in the revolution of June 30, 2013, as the two popes have the same motivation to do so including their fear and love for the nation. Therefore, I believe that there is one spirit controls the attitudes of the Coptic Orthodox Church and direct its leaders over time. My friends, as we bid farewell to Pope Shenouda III, we did not lose his works, biography and writings. His children are still preaching his ideology and love for his enemies. This appeared as the Salafies were calling to kill him, but he was praying for them. He refused to hear his disciples and fans promising to sacrifice their souls to protect him and said it is his role to protect them even by sacrificing his soul. He indeed loved his people and thus he was loved by his people.
