A Coptic man named Ibram Awny was killed after clashes between Muslims and Christians in Dayrout. The clashes started when three young Muslims harassed a Christian girl. Awni died after receiving a gunshot during the clashes. Major General Abu Al-Qasim, Director of Security in Assiut, has received notification of clashes between Muslims and Christians in the village and the police succeeded to stop the clashes.
