EGYPT 'S Chief Prosecutor Abdel- Maguid Mahmoud yesterday referred the editor-in-chief and a journalist of the independent weekly Al-Balagh Al- Gadeed to the Urgent Criminal Court for publishing a false report accusing actors of homosexuality.The case started when the newspaper carried the story on October 1
which prompted the famous Egyptian actor Nour el-Sherif,who was mentioned among other actors,together with Ashraf Zaki,Head of the Actors ' Association,to file a suit against Al- Balagh .Al-Balagh alleged that el-Sherif and some other actors were arrested after caught nvolved in homosexual acts in Cairo,a report denied by the security agencies on Monday.“We won 't let it go like this,”Zaki said.“This doesn 't humiliate actors only,but it also affects the image of the whole country.”Egypt,the Arab world 's most populous country,is known as the Hollywood of the East.
