Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry Saturday evening signed a memorandum of understanding with his South Sudanese counterpart Barnaba Benjamin on mutual cancellation of entry visa fees between both countries, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Badr Abdel Atty in a Sunday statement.
The memorandum comes in light of South Sudanese President Salva Kiir arriving in Egypt for a state visit Friday.
Both countries Saturday also signed an agreement on technical and development cooperation in water resources, said the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation in a joint statement.
Cairo and Juba signed Saturday other memoranda of understanding regarding health, culture, education, energy and agriculture, presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef said in a statement Saturday.
Kiir also invited President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to visit South Sudan, which was welcomed by the Egyptian side, Youssef added.
