Military raises combat readiness ahead of 28 November protests

Military central command units have raised combat readiness ahead of carrying out security missions to preserve public and private properties in greater Cairo.

A statement by the armed forces on Wednesday said that the military's northern command elements have been ready to deal with urgent situations in collaboration with the security departments of Alexandria and other provinces.

Special forces’ fighting groups, according to the statement, have been relocated to be near police stations to help out with securing pivotal establishments.

The military police department will set checkpoints, in coordination with civil police, to arrest any suspects on the roads nationwide.

Measures are taken to protect coastal and land borders as well as the Suez Canal to prevent infiltration by terrorists in the country.

The Salafist Font earlier called for staging protests entiling them an ‘armed revolution’ on 28 November.
