Egyptian Ministry of Interior Affairs decided to release another 20 Bedouin detainees on Monday, as promised Egypt's Interior Minister Habib el-Adli in his meeting with Sinai Bedouin tribal leaders last week
El Adli promised tribal leaders that security measures would be eased at various checkpoints in Sinai and arrests would no longer be carried out merely on the basis suspicion.
He asked the tribes to cooperate with the ministry in protecting this strategic region.
Security sources say Egypt's Interior Ministry will release more detainees in a few days after studying their files, a decision which tribal leaders have welcomed.
