ASWAN- Traffic on the River Nile and on Cairo-Aswan Desert Road has been crippled due to fierce sand storms, which hit several parts in Upper Egypt, mainly Aswan, according to meterologists.
Several tour operators had to cancel the popular feluca (boat) rides on the Nile as a result, they added. Meanwhile, several fires, which erupted in Upper Egypt, were blamed on high temperatures. Firefighting and rescue services are put on alert for potential fires, local civil defence officials said on Saturday.
