Egyptian court postpones MB trial

An Egypt's emergency court has postponed the trial of five members of the Egyptian banned Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group after one defendant suffered heart troubles, said Egypt's state news agency

The members of Egypt's largest Islamic opposition group have been charged with money laundering and raising funds abroad. Four of the men are being tried in absentia.

Egypt's Middle East News Agency says the sole defendant in Egyptian custody, Osama Sulieman, was rushed to a Cairo hospital after suffering heart troubles following a hearing Wednesday.

MENA says the trial was adjourned Thursday until October 10.

Though banned, the 80-year-old Muslim Brotherhood has renounced violence and is somewhat tolerated by the state. Its members can run for elections as independents.
