A wise initiative

The Government has disclosed a wise initiative to encourage university and school leavers, who are willing to abandon forever the classic dream of hoping for very poorly paid jobs in governmental office, to find work in the business community. In trying to inspire more young people to launch their own small, private businesses, the Government has announced that it will do more to remove the main stumbling block - poor marketing facilities and publicity - which is hampering small businesses from gaining a strong foothold in the market

In collaboration with the General Authority of International Fairs and Exhibitions, the Government, represented by the Ministry of Local Development, is planning to increase the number of outlets in major exhibitions. The move will undoubtedly help Egypt's young businesspeople to tout their commodities and products. According to the new philosophy to reduce unemployment by increasing the community of small businesspeople, the Seventh Small Projects Technology Fair will start on October 20, lasting for three days. In the meantime, the 5th Fair for New Graduates will be held in the Upper Egyptian city of Assiut on October 23 - November 26. Plans have also been made to market the products of small businesses abroad. Small businesses will attract the attention of more young people only when they are offered outlets and fairs to market their products. If not, they'll continue to try and get governmental jobs. Mind you, that would be better than their going to prison for defaulting on the loans they get to start their own businesses.
