Egypt may go to international court over death of expat in Germany’s prison
Egyptian Ministry of Emigration Nabila Makram stated that her country may go to the international jurisdiction over the case of the Egyptian national Mohamed Al Naggar, who died in German prison late June.

She added in a talk show “On Egypt’s Air” on al-Nahar T.V. that there is a criminal motive behind his death, adding that there are indications that he could be burned to death.

Al Naggar, 22, was reportedly arrested by German authorities in February over an alleged theft attempt at a store. Egyptian foreign ministry announced in a statement Wednesday that Al Naggarhas signed a farewell letter upon his arrest to not inform the Egyptian consulate of his case. In his farewell letter written before his alleged attempted suicide in mid June, “he also requested not to send his dead body back to Egypt,” according to the statement.
