Sporting de Braga have officially lodged an offer to sign Ahly’s teenager Ahmed Hamdi, the Cairo giants announced on Tuesday.
“Ahly have received an initial offer from Braga to sign midfielder Ahmed Hamdi,” the club said in a statement via its official website.
“We asked whether the deal would be a loan or a permanent one and also about their financial offer. The technical staff will discuss the offer once the club receives the offer’s details before taking the final decision,” the statement added.
The 18-year-old Hamdi made his first team debut with Egyptian Champions Ahly last season under Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro who is currently the head coach of Braga.
Braga ended last season’s Portuguese league at the fourth place. They currently lie second at the competition’s table with 10 points, two behind leaders Sporting CP after four matches.
