Squash: Egypt's Ramy Ashour advances to World Championship quarters

Egyptian player Ramy Ashour has reached the quarter finals of the World squash Champion on Monday after defeating Daryl Selby of England 3-1.

The 29-year old seems in control during the first game winning 11/6 before slipping at the second 8/11 but then he showed his full strength and talent in the final two games 11/5 and 11/6.

Ashour – a three time world champion – will face his fellow countryman Fares Dessouky who beat Nafiizwan Adnan of Malaysia 3-2.

"I think after the first game I wanted to win and that was a mistake. I should just stick to playing right. I got excited and then got hard on myself. The second game went well, but he started pushing me into all four corners and I wasn’t really playing like I was in the first game," Ashour said after the game.

"I just wanted to play the right way, the way I was playing in the first game and I did get back to playing the right way again. I’m glad I’m listening more between games, which is good. I’m getting more input and I’m not as stubborn as I used to be. I’m trying to relax myself between games, you may see me getting mad in the games, but I’m learning to listen more because I obviously don’t know everything. When I lose, of course I don’t know everything," he concluded.
