Ghana star Ayew returns, Asamoah, Gyan out of Egypt clash

West Ham forward Andre Ayew is now ready to take part in Ghana's World Cup qualifier in Egypt on November 13, while captain Asamoah Gyan and Juventus playmaker Kwadwo Asamoah will miss out due to injury.

Ayew sustained a thigh injury during West Ham's opening English Premier League 2-1 defeat at Chelsea in mid-August, returning only on 26 October for his side's 2-1 League Cup win against the Blues.

Ahli Dubai's Gyan, meanwhile, will sit out the clash due to an injury that forced him to miss his club's last two domestic league games, with Juventus' Asamoah also ruled out.

Ghana coach Avram Grant, whose side was held to an opening goalless home draw with group minnows Uganda, gave a couple of players their first international call-up – summoning Portugal-based midfielder Alhassan Wakaso and Barnsley's defender Andy Yiadom.

Yiadom's invitation, however, is pending a FIFA clearance, having already played for England C in an international friendly.

Egypt, who is eyeing their first World Cup appearance since 1990, is leading Group E with three points following its 2-1 opening away win at Congo.
