The Ahly football club says they are ready to apply an online ticketing service through their website to "ease up match attendance procedures" amid security concerns.
The statement was made during a presser held Monday at the club's headquarters, where they announced the launching of a similar service but only for members of the media.
“Ahly is the first club in the Middle East to apply such technology,” Ahly executive director Sherin Shams said during the conference.
“This mechanism has been launched after a series of meetings with officials from the Egyptian Football Association and the Interior Ministry.”
"We are ready to apply a similar system for fans who wants to attend football matches after spectators are allowed back to stands," Shams added.
Fans are banned from attending domestic matches in Egypt though they are gradually being allowed to attend important continental games.
The ban was put in place after 72 people died and dozens were injured in February 2012 in clashes between Ahly and Masry fans in Port Said Stadium.
"We hope the association supports us in applying the service through an online database because the upcoming period needs cooperation from all."
