Former England captain Rooney rejoins Everton from Manchester United

Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry is confident of clinching the African Champions League trophy after his side made it to the quarterfinals defeating Cameroon s Cotonsport 3-1 in Alexandria Saturday.

"It was a very special game for me because qualification into the quarterfinals was one of the priorities for us and I thank all my players for making it happen. Our goal now is to win the title," the 56-year-tacticain saidd at the post-match press conference at Borg El-Arab Stadium.

The Cairo-based club finished second in Group D with 11 points, on level with Zambia s Zanaco but with a better goal difference as both sides are tied in the head-to-head record.

"I only informed Amro Gamal that he will play as a striker 48 hours before the game and he was very reliable," El-Badry added.

Gamal ended a one-year Champions League scoring drought, netting two goals to inspire the Reds to come back from a 12th minute goal shock.

"We are aiming to win our ninth title. We don t care which opponent we are going to compete with because we trust our abilities of winning," El-Badry concluded.
