Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has expressed the club s determination to win the Arab Club Championship, which is currently underway in Cairo, despite the "tough" challenge posed by Jordan s Al-Faisaly.
"We have objectives to accomplish in this tournament. We intended to start with the performance we deliver and we are in the tournament to win," the 57-year-old tactician told a press conference on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Ahly play Jordan s Al-Faisaly in the semi-finals at the Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
"The Al-Faisaly game will surely be tough. They are a very good team, but I trust the ability of all the Ahly players to clinch the title," he added.
Ahly booked their place in the semis by placing second in their group ranking with six points, while Jordan s Al-Faisaly, Tunisian side Esperance and Morocco s FUS Rabat reached the semis after topping their groups.
Esperance will face Morocco s FUS Rabat on Thursday.
"All the Ahly players are key players and some need to rest, because we have a tight schedule; after the Arab Championship we will compete for the Egypt Cup and the African Champions League," El-Badry concluded.
