Egypts winger Salah praises coach Klopp eyes titles with Liverpool

Egypt s winger Mohamed Salah has heaped praise on Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, insisting that the German tactician helped him a lot in delivering outstanding performances before the goal with the Premiere League club this season.

“With the boss here, I play a little bit closer to the goal, more so than at any other club or more than any of my other coaches have asked me to,” Salah told the Liverpool Echo on Monday.

“So I am always in front of the goal to give me the opportunity to score. The manager is always telling me to stay close to the goal in training," he added.

The 25-year-old winger, who joined Liverpool from the Serie A side Roma, has taken the Premier League by storm, scoring 22 goals to take his tally to 30 goals in 36 appearances with Liverpool in all competitions.

Salah is the second of the Premiere League s two top scorers, just one behind leading scorer Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.

“I don t want to say too much because we still have a long way to go in the season and I don t want to give too much away. But yes, it s something we have worked on in the training sessions," the former Chelsea and Fiorentina player said.

“You cannot score 10 goals from 10 balls – that s impossible – and I know that I have missed many chances too this season. But I am trying to improve.

“I am always trying to see my weaknesses and then work on them and I am always trying to score in different ways.

“The coaches help me so much to do that and I also work hard alone after the training sessions.”

Salah scored his 30th goal of the season during Wednesday s 5-0 win over Porto in the UEFA Champions League, a precious victory that left Liverpool one step away from the quarter-finals.

“I came here to win titles, to win something for the club, for us as players and for the fans,” he told Liverpool s official matchday programme.

“I would love to win something with Liverpool and we are all working hard every day to try to achieve that," he concluded.

Liverpool currently lie third at the Premiere League table with 54 points, 18 behind leaders Manchester City.
