Three new faces will be tested in Kuwait friendly: Egypt assistant coach

Egyptian national team assistant coach Osama Nabih has said that three new players will be tested during the Kuwait friendly game in May, one month ahead of the start of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

"There will always be surprises. We are monitoring three players in the Egyptian Premier League and they could be called up," Nabih told a radio station Thursday morning.

Egypt have ended their first training camp since qualifying for the World Cup.

They lost in two friendly games; 2-1 against Portugal and 1-0 against Greece.

"The Kuwait game scheduled for 26 May is very important. It s out of FIFA s agenda so no Europe-based players will be called-up. It will be a good chance to try new faces," Nabih explained.

"We built our team and at least 20 players are final selection, but there s still room for new faces," he concluded.

Seven-time African champions Egypt have qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 28 years and will be in Group A alongside hosts Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
