Farewell to a Coptic hero

The Coptic Orthodox Church and the world lost a great man yesterday whose books exceeded 100, among them many books to defend the Holy Bible. He is Father Morkos Aziz.

The man filed many lawsuits against movies insulting Christian faiths, and declared his faith not fearing anyone. He also defended the church upon the elections of the General Congregation Council against all attempts to defame the Church.

For more than 25 years, the man was courageous till he stood trial before the Clerical Council when he was found not guilty, but was deported to the United States of America away from his beloved the Hanging Church. He filed more than 50 complaints against extremists like Yasser Borhamy and used to sign such complaints fearing no one but God. Furthermore, he was poor and didn’t seek riches by any means. His car was demolished after one of his bold lectures under the ruling of the Muslim Brotherhood.

He was a strong man who took from the spirit of St. Athanasios, and St. Stephen who prayed for those who stoned him. I hope his body will be buried in the Hanging Chruch that he love till the end.
