The Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church issued a statement yesterday demanding the observance of human rights in the new Constitution of Egypt.
The statement emphasized that the new constitution should declare Egypt a modern civil state, which doesn’t discriminate between citizens, and respect minorities and women, as well as applying the laws of non-Muslims concerning their personal status.
