Spirit of life magazine issued by the Salafist movement in Beni Suef, which is distributed throughout a large number of mosques after Friday prayers, forbad celebrating Sham el-Nessim (a pharaonic feast). It said that it is a pharaonic feast which was related to agriculture then it became related to Christians; their great lent and the Passover (Easter).
Muslims shouldn’t celebrate the feasts of non-Muslims, as Allah has given us our feasts. We shouldn’t imitate them as their feasts have haram and bad practices, it added.
