Dr. Amr Hamzawy, Member of Parliament has presented an urgent briefing for Dr. Muhammad Saad al-Katatni, parliament speaker, against using the houses of worship in the election campaigns of some candidates in the presidential election.
This briefing aims at driving the Ministries of Awqaf and interior to take some action, as well as demanding the Supreme Committee for the presidential elections to investigate the matter and do something to prevent these violations.
For its part, The Ministry of Awqaf today announced on its official page on Facebook that there are strict instructions for the preachers and imams not use the mosques to support any of the candidates.
