Dr. Sheik. Osama El Koussy, a salafist preacher, said that Egyptian society is facing a crisis of ignorance. He added he doesn’t support the political currents of Salafis or Muslim Brotherhood.
El Koussy said in a seminar organized by Intercultural Dialogue and Translation Center that he doesn’t support the political Islam as politics is a secular job that has nothing to do with the fundamentals of religion, and described himself as “Salafi in religion, liberal in politics”.
He said the fight now is between knowledge of few people and ignorance of many which is used by opportunistic currents and parties to achieve their interests.
El Koussy wished Article II of the constitution to be repealed as religion is something private. He warned against the currents of underdevelopment and backwardness.
