It was unpleasant surprise for the christians of Beni Suef as the verdict issued by the court of Minya concerning the sectarian incidents of Abu Korkas. The court judged that the twelve Christians involved in the case were guilty and were sentenced to life imprisonment, while all Muslims were acquitted.
