The State Council's Administrative Court postponed the case demanding the former President Hosni Mubarak be transferred to a military hospital to 16 October on Saturday. Judges said the extra time was needed to complete needed documents.
The claim was filed before Mubarak was transferred to Maadi Military Hospital, where he currently resides. Those filing the suit said that Mubarak still maintains his military rank as a lieutenant general and should therefore be treated in a military hospital. If the court ruled against their case, Mubarak could be moved to a prison hospital.
They said according to Article 108 of the military judiciary law, the defendant does not lose his military rank until a final ruling by the military judiciary is issued against him. They demanded that Mubarak be transferred to a military hospital where he can serve his sentence.
Another court session is scheduled to decide whether Mubarak should be released on the basis of health problems on 10 July.
