Netherlands Embassy: nothing has changed concerning Coptic asylum seekers

Statement said that each asylum will be examined on its own, and christians in Egypt still have to prove their need of international protection like any asylum seeker.

 

In the case there is real threat to the life of a  Christian Egyptian asylum seeker, and there is a violation of article III of the European Convention for human rights and the fundamental freedoms, or being subjected to persecution, according to a United Nations Convention of 1951 for refugees, he or she does not have to prove their need for protection from the Egyptian authorities, it added.
