Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi discussed with European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton possible economic cooperation between Egypt and the EU during their meeting in the Presidential Palace in Cairo Thursday.
The two also discussed ways in which the EU could help Egypt in the coming phase, along with current events in Egypt and internationally.
Ashton arrived in Cairo Wednesday evening for a two-day visit.
On Friday, Ashton is slated to attend a conference in Cairo devoted to women's issues, according to MENA, the Egyptian state news agency.
