Bomb thrown at Cairo synagogue, no dead
Egyptian police report a makeshift bomb was hurled at Cairo's main downtown synagogue in the early hours of the morning, causing a brief fire but no injuries, security sources said Sunday.

    According to Sunday's official statement, a man checked into a fourth story hotel at around 3 a.m. local time before abruptly throwing a suitcase out the window at the synagogue across the street.
   The case, which contained a makeshift bomb made of gasoline cans and sulfuric acid, burned briefly but did not detonate.
   There were no injuries and police are seeking the suspect, who fled the scene.
