Three Egyptians were injured on Wednesday after a train car disconnected and derailed on a track in Upper Egypt's Assiut governorate.
The train was in transit from the southern governorate of Aswan to Cairo.
Following the incident, the Egyptian Railway Authority sent a new car to attach to the train as ambulances rushed to the scene to treat the injured, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
Egypt has witnessed a series of deadly train crashes and derailments since the early 1990s, leaving hundreds dead.
