Demiana acquitted!

Case of Demiana Abdul Nour had nothing to do with freedom of speech. She was a victim of misfortune and conflicts between the principal and young Islamic teachers supported by the Islamic parties that trade on religion and wronged a naïve girl in order to achieve their political interests.

Those people who does not represent the official religious institutions in Egypt, but only incite hatred among the Egyptian people thinking they help Islam.

The poor girl was smashed like a flower under the feet of those monsters. This twenty-four-years-old simple girl, who lives in a primitive house, may have never heard before of sanitation like many people in her region. She should have struggled to be a teacher, but those monsters awakened her up from her dreams.

Demiana could have never added to her suffering by talking in such strictly taboo in her new school that most of its people are but fanatical Islamists. She knows very well that it will, at least, mark her least day in her new job that she is in dire need for.

Demiana, as stated by many people, is a good teacher that’s adored by her students. Her students said that she is both nice and good teacher, which means they have clearly chosen the wrong victim. Another possibility is that the other teachers envied her success and decided to send her away.

Only 3out of 42 students have accused her, and were contradicting testimonies! Furthermore, the Muslim supervisor has attended this very class, and never noticed such blasphemy.

It’s but nonsense to hear such accusation, as a fresh graduate teacher usually trembles before a supervisor. This story was clearly faked by a journalist who used the enmity between some teachers and the principal whom he doesn’t like very much. At the same time, the Islamic teachers liked this story and even believed it.

All Egyptians should refuse all kinds of contempt of religions. We need such law applied equally and fairly on all Egyptians, and not to be used against a punch of innocent people whom enemies want to torture, while the real criminals who incite hatred against the Copts all the time and not even reproached by an official.
