Fabricated charges against the Copts

The case of Coptic Christian teacher Demiana Obeid Abdel Nour is a sample of what the Copts face in Egypt. It's repeated charges against peaceful people who're mostly proven innocent at the end. Demiana was accused and convicted however there was no proof that she has already done something wrong.

In the 18th century, during the reign of Mohamed Ali Pasha, a Coptic man called Sidhom Bishay was accused of contempt of Islam and was forced to convert to Islam. As he has strictly refused, he was tortured to death. Later, Bishay was proven innocent after he was already burned alive on this fabricated charge.

Recently, a Coptic Christian man in Qena was accused of raping a Muslim child. Later, the forensic reported proved he was innocent.

Demaiana was fined 20.000 EGP for fabricated accusations of contempt of Islam, while those who actually attacked a church as well as the houses of Christians in Matay were fined only 300.

I hope the governors remember that one day they are going to give an account for what they have done. Where is your justice? Why those who keep insulting Christianity are rarely punished, while many Christians are in prison on the same charges!
