Thousands of military supporters take to Tahrir Square to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1973 War, with many calling on military leader Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to run for president
On the 40th anniversary of the 6 October 1973 War, supporters of the Egyptian military poured into Tahrir Square to voice their approval of the current military leader, General Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Many in Tahrir called on El-Sisi to be the next president of Egypt. A group called Tawahod are gathering signatures to that effect.
Elsewhere in Egypt, deadly clashes erupted as supporters of former president Mohamed Morsi clashed with security forces.
