Pope Tawadros congratulates Al-Azhar grand sheikh on Eid

Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb received, on Thursday, Pope Tawadros and the delegation accompanying him who arrived to congratulate him on Eid Al-Adha.
 
Tawadros congratulated Tayyeb at the beginning on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, wishing that God keep Egypt and its people safe and to keep it guarded with the steadfastness and unity of its people that is always manifested at hard times, Tawadros said.
 
Tayyeb meanwhile stressed that the Egyptian people, Muslims and Christians, are together and that no one can undermine their historical cohesion and unity which are capable of overcoming any attempts to undermine Egypt's stability.
 
Tayyeb praised the relations of friendship and mutual respect that prevail between Al-Azhar and the Cathedral of St. Mark, pointing to the significant role played by the Egyptian Family House to provide realistic solutions to risks that threaten the future of the country and its role to remove all causes of sectarian tension exploited by the enemies of the homeland.
 
Tawadros praised during the meeting the role of Al-Azhar grand sheikh's wisdom which preserved the Egyptians' unity, stressing that Al-Azhar and the Church are capable of overcoming all attempts to break up the Egyptian people, including their feelings of affection.
 
Tawadros stressed that all Egyptians are one fabric, and cannot be fragmented as they proved to the whole world that they are able to overcome the challenges and difficulties.
