45 referred to criminal court for bombing power stations

Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat ordered for the referral of 45 alleged Muslim Brotherhood members to the criminal court, according to state-run Television.Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat ordered for the referral of 45 alleged Muslim Brotherhood members to the criminal court, according to state-run Television.
 
The 45 accused are charged with crimes of bombing high pressure power plants.
 
Investigations revealed that the Brotherhood established militant cells in governorates across Egypt including Giza, Gharbeya, Alexandria, Menufiya and Kafr Al-Sheikh. Among these cells were engineers and technicians working in power plants cutting electricity on public facilities to provoke citizens.
 
The defendants targeted nine electricity towers and power plants in different governorates where investigations also included the confessions of 18 of the defendants. The apparent confessions included their statements that they acquired maps of electricity distribution in power plants from an employee in the National Energy Control Center
